August stamp camp layouts

Believe it or not it's me again! Thought I'd show you the layouts for my August stamp camp. All product used is Stampin'Up! Saw a 6x6 layout using the torn paper for the sand and sea and Pick a Petal stamp set for the surf boards and thought I would adapt it to a two page 12x12 spread. These are photos of my girls on Dollymount beach in Dublin, Ireland, looking for shells. They had a great time. I took lots of pictures and plan on putting together a minibook of our trip to Ireland.
This is the second layout. It's titled 'Good Times'. I plan to add the words 'Let the' before 'Good Times' and then 'Roll' after it but thought it would work better this way, more flexible. This is the first time I cropped photos into a circle. I like the look and think it goes with the theme. I used the corner rounder with the guard removed to make the scalloped border. I can't wait to get my hands on SU's new scallop border punch. I placed an order from the new catalog but it still hasn't even been picked yet!!! I'll be holding a new catalog Open House early September and will have lots of new products to show and hopefully tons of samples too if my order gets here in time so I can get busy creating!!!
Well I must scoot as the girls have a friend coming over in 45 mins and they're not dressed yet and the playroom is a mess. Take care friends :o)

Long, long time no post :o(

Wow, I really do need to figure this blog thing out. Sorry to anyone who may have stopped by in the last three months and not found any new posts. I am hoping once the girls start Kindergarten this September that I might be able to get my act together and become a better blogger (I can't get any worse now can I!!!)

Today I'd like to show you last month's pages for my scrapbook stamp camp that I hold in my home once a month.

The 'Rock Stars' layout could also be used for 'Fourth of July'. I used my little Epson PictureMate printer to print my pics. I love that little printer :o)

Here's the 'Thank You' cards I made for Ciara and Tara's (my twin daughters) 5th birthday, using PapertreyInk stamps and SU cardstock, paper and ink and also the scallop punch.

I can't seem to get rid of this last sideways picture. If anyone knows how to do this can you let me know. Have a great day :o)

More NSD challenges

Here are my altered embellishment pages. On the 'So very proud' page I added Stickles to the flower. Same thing on the 'Playground fun' page and last, I added paper to clear buttons and then layered them with smaller buttons and then a heart shaped brad on the 'Sweetest thing' layout.

NSD

Happy National Scrapbooking Day everyone! I am having so much fun scrapping and participating in some online fun :o) Here is a layout I made for Robyn's 'simple layout' challenge. I can't believe how fast and fun this was to do.

Will be back later with more.

Worst blogger award

Well I must be the worst blogger in the universe! Thought I'd sneak in a post today and surprise anyone who might actually stop by (hi Stephen! You've probably given up checking in too, sorry). Figured I should post something I stamped seeing as how I changed my blog name to include the word 'stamping'! So here's a couple of cards I created recently. The first is a birthday card I created yesterday using all Stampin'Up products. The second is one I made for my dad's bithday a week ago and it is still sitting on my desk!!!! Maybe I should just save it for next year. It uses Papertrey stamps, everything else is Stampin'Up.
I will try to be a better blogger. I think I will make Sunday's my day to upload a new post. We'll see what happens, eh! Enjoy what's left of your weekend.
hugs,
Ruth.

Well I had a feeling I wouldn't be a very good blogger! I need to set a specific day to update my blog I guess or it'll never get done. We went to Bounce Town this morning and then to McDonalds for lunch followed by a trip to Target. A good morning :o) I've picked up a couple of new scrapbooking books recently. All of which I would highly recommend. The first is 'Real.Life.Scrapbooking.' by Rebecca Cooper. She's a busy stay-at-home mom of 3 kids (2 at the time she wrote the book) and how she fits scrapbooking into her busy schedule with lots of time-saving tips. She also talks about scrapbooking real life moments and not just big events and holidays, something I'm trying to do more of (of course I forgot the bloody camera this morning! Next time). Lots of great layout ideas in here too. The next book is by Becky Higgins and is called 'The best of becky Higgins Sketches'. I wanted this for Christmas but Santa couldn't find it and I've been hunting it down ever since. This book is set up in sections based on the number of photos you would like to use in a layout and then has tons of sketches for you to choose from with a sample of a layout to go with each one. This is truly a great resource to have on hand. last but not least by any means is a book by Ali Edwards called 'Life Artist'. This book is also filled to the brim with layouts all done by Ali herself. She has a very distinctive style, which I like. I have just read the first few chapters of this book so far and I love it. Tip: don't read this book before going to bed or you'll never switch your brain off! This book is about Ali's philosophy behind scrapbooking and so far it makes so much sense.
So if you are looking for a good scrapbooking book, these are all good choices :o)

I'm going to try to add a video to my blog but I'm not sure if it will work.

Enjoy your day.

Ruth.
